What if the pressure to add something extra to your faith is the very thing that pulls you off course? In this message, Pastor Jon Maurer continues the Unshaken series with a look at Colossians 2, where the apostle Paul wrote to a church being tempted by "Jesus plus" teachings that promised more. Using the image of a tree that survives storms because of its deep roots, Jon unpacks Paul's answer: Christ is enough, and staying unshaken means growing deeper, not taller. He explores what happened on the cross, including the idea that it was a victory over shame and accusation as well as a payment for sin. Jon also shares a personal story about a hard stretch when the quiet voice of "you're not enough" got loud. The message closes with a few moments of reflection and three simple steps to take this week.
